This study aimed to determine the cause of chronic energy deficiency (CED) in pregnant women.rnThis study was carried out on July 23, 2014 using a descriptive research design with a population of pregnant women who experience chronic energy deficiency (CED) number of 23 people. The sampling technique is the total sampling. The variables in this study are the root causes of chronic energy deficiency (CED) in pregnant women. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Data processing techniques and data analysis using the editing, coding, scoring and tabulating.rnThe results of the study factors causing chronic energy deficiency (CED) in pregnant women in the work area Brambang the sub district Health Center Diwek Jombang good knowledge obtained 6 respondents (26.08%), 7 respondents sufficient knowledge (30.43%), 10 respondents less knowledge (43.47%). As for the type of income earned upscale 4 respondents (17.39%), 9 types of middle-class respondents (39.13%), 10 types of lower-class respondents (43.47%).rnConclusions of the study are knowledge of nutrition of pregnant women who experience chronic energy deficiency (CED) in the sub-district health centers Diwek Brambang Jombang is almost half less knowledge and almost half lower income class type.rnKeywords: Causes, Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED), Pregnant Women
