One of the problems arising from the increase in the elderly population is the increase in the elderlyrndependency ratio (the old age dependency ratio). The more elderly person, the physical ability will be rndecreased, which would cause a decline in the role - social role. This result is also impaired in terms ofrnearning his living, so as to increase the dependency that requires the help of another person. Data fromrnJombang District Health Office in 2012 found the number of elderly in East Java amounted to 15 856rn1.21756 million elderly and elderly people in poor health who still need help from others in meeting thernactivities of daily life. This study to determine the independence of the elderly in meeting daily activitiesrn(ADL / Aktivity of Daily Living).rnThis research was a descriptive. The population was entire elderly in the hamlet of Beron Sepanyul village, rndistrict of Gudo Jombang regency. The used was a purposive sampling. The instrument used in this research rnwas a questionnaire, while the variable was the independence of elderly in meeting daily life activities rn(ADL). Data processing and analysis used editing, coding, scoring and tabulating.rnThe result of this research showed that the independence of elderly in meeting daily life activities (ADL / rnAktivity of Daily Living) was half of respondents depend with total as many as 15 (50,00%) respondents rndepend in part were as many as 10 (33,33%) respondents and independent were 5 respondents.rnFrom the result can be concluded that the independent of elderly in fulfill daily life activities (ADL / Aktivity rnof Daily Living), half of respondent had total dependence.rnKeywords: Independent, Elderly, ADL / Aktivity of Daily Living.
