BEHAVIOR OF MOTHER’S INFANTS IN PREVENTING DIARRHEA TO INFANTS rnAGED 3-5 YEARSrn(Study at Bandung Village Diwek District Jombang Regency)
Diarrheal disease remains a public health problem in developing countries such as Indonesia, because morbidity and mortality are still high. Based on preliminary study on April, 16 2014 with questionnaires at Bandung Village Jombang Regency from 10 respondents were known 2 people answered the prevention of diarrhea with cooking with clean water, 2 people answered the prevention of diarrhea by drinking boiled water, whereas 6 people did not prevent diarrhea. The purpose of this study was to know the behavior of mother’s infants in preventing diarrhea in infants aged 3-5 years.rnStudy design used descriptive method. Population was all mothers who had infants aged 3-5 years as many as 343 people with 34 samples responden. sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Variable was mother's infant behavior in preventing diarrhea in infants aged 3-5 years. Instrument used questionnaires. Data processing and analysis used editing, coding, scoring and tabulating.rnThe study results showed most of mother's infant behavior in preventing diarrhea in infants aged 3-5 years was active as many as 18 people (52.9%) and passive as many as 16 people (47.1%).rnThe conclusion was that mother’s infant behavior in preventing diarrhea in infants aged 3-5 years at Bandung Village Diwek District Jombang Regency was mostly active (52.9%).rnMidwives are expected to provide counseling to mothers on how to prevent diarrhea in infants aged 3-5 years on integrated service post or health service.
