The presence of parents are required to contribute more, especially when children watch rntelevision that parents should give the child deal about which events s hould watch it or not, when rnshould watch, worship time, time to learn, time to sleep. In Hamlet Balong Besuk parental role is rndifferent, there is no one watching and not watching. and there are never too busy supervising, so rnthat children are free to choose their preferred television programs without considering the show rnwas worth watching or not. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of parents in rnsupervising preschool children while watching television at Hamlet Village Balong Besuk districtrnof Diwek and Jombang. This research is descriptive, with a population of parents of preschool rnchildren in the hamlet Balong Besuk many as 37 parents. Sampling of the total sampling. rnTechniques of data collection using questionnaires. Processing data using means of editing, rncoding, scoring and tabulating. With descriptive data analysis and frequency distribution tables.rnResults of research conducted showed that most parents do not play an active number of 21 rnrespondents (56.7%), nearly half of 16 respondents (43.3%) play an active role. Conclusion Thernresults of this study that most of the parents' role in overseeing the preschool children to television rnviewing in Hamlet Balong Besuk inactive role.
