Wash your hands do not become cultural community at large in Indonesia. One important effort in order realize ideal family is the family health education planting starts from simple matter of washing hands properly. Based on preliminary studies conducted on Thursday March 13, 2013 in the Godong Hamlet Genukwatu village Ngoro District Jombang Regency of obtained from 10 mother 3 mother has been doing well and wash hands properly and 7 mothers did not wash hands properly. This study was conducted to determine the behavior of the mother in carrying out handwashing.rnThis type of research is descriptive. The population in this study were all mothers of childbearing age (20-45 years) in the hamlet village Kweden Sidowarek Ngoro District of Jombang. And samples in this study were mostly mothers of childbearing age (20-45 years) in the Kweden Hamlet Sidowarek Village Ngoro District Jombang Regency. The sampling technique using simple random sampling. Variable was the mother's behavior in carrying out handwashing. Analysis of the data using the editing, coding, scoring and tabulating. Retrieval of data using questionnaires.rnThe results of the study of maternal behavior in carrying out handwashing Kweden Hamlet Sidowarek Village Ngoro District Jombang Regency, of the 87 respondents indicated that the mother's behavior in carrying out the act of hand washing is positive in 33 respondents (37.9%) and the negative behavior as much as 54 respondents (62.1%). The conclusion from this study is that the majority of maternal behavior in carrying out handwashing in the Kweden Hamlet Sidowarek Village Ngoro Distric Jombang Regency was negative by 54 respondents (62,1 %).rnKeywords: Behavior, Mother, Hand Wash
