Puerperium is a period that begins after the placenta came out and ends when the womb tools returned to pre-pregnant. The big problem for puerperal women was a nutritional problem. This was due to the avoidance of some food. Based on preliminary study that researcher did to eight respondents in Mentaos Village Gudo District Jombang Regency was only two respondents who had a good diet. The purpose of this study was to know puerperal woman’s perception about diet post childbirth in Independent practice midwife Ny. Nurul Mentaos Village Gudo District Jombang Regency.rnType of research was descriptive research. Population was all puerperal women in Independent practice midwife Ny. Nurul Mentaos Village Gudo District Jombang Regency as many as 15 respondents. Sample technique used Consecutive sampling. The variable in this study was puerperal woman’s perception about diet post childbirth. The data was obtained from the questionnaires filled by respondents by answering provided questions,then the data processing was done by Editing, Coding, Scoring, and Tabulating.rnBased on the research result about puerperal woman’s perception diet post childbirth from 15 respondents were obtained that the perception was negative (54%).rnThe conclusion was the majority of respondents had a negative perception about diet post childbirth in Independent practice midwife Ny. Nurul Mentaos Village Gudo District Jombang Regency. Midwives and Village clinic are suggested to collaborate in improving the policy providing information about proper diet post childbirth to puerperal women with leafled provision help, and counseling at integrated service post.rnrnKeywords: perception, puerperal women, dietrn
