PEMERIKSAAN KADAR KALSIUM SERUM PADA LANSIA SEBAGAI DETEKSI AWAL TERJADINYA OSTEOPOROSIS
Osteoporosis is an issue across the country and become a global health issue. The high incidence of osteoporosis is caused by people who adopt unhealthy lifestyles, reduced physical activity and a balanced diet. Bone mass reaches a maximum at the age of 30 years, will lead to loss of calcium at the age of 50 years so that the greater the risk of fractures due to osteoporosis is greater. This study aimed to determine the serum calcium elderly as early detection of osteoporosis in the Village District of Tembelang Jatiwates Jombang. Using descriptive research design. In this study, the entire population is elderly in the village of Jombang Tembelang Jatiwates the District totaling 64 people with a sample of 30 people with using purposive sampling technique. The variable in this study is the serum calcium level in the elderly. Instrument in this study using questionnaires and observation.In this study perform data processing Editing, Coding, Scoring, Tabulating and percentages. Based on the results of research in the Village District of Tembelang Jatiwates Jombang can be concluded that the majority of respondents were of normal serum levels (8.6 to 10.3 mg / dl) of 20 respondents (66.7%). From the research results obtained serum calcium levels in most normal elderly.It is expected that health workers can provide counseling to the elderly and families about physical changes and decreased serum levels in older people through the distribution of leaflets and asked questions so that the elderly and families know and understand about the physiological changes experienced by the elderly.rnKeywords: serum calcium, the elderly, osteoporosisrn
