Diphtheria is known as a very dangerous infectious diseases in children. East Java is the biggest rncontributor of diphtheria cases in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is knowing mother motivation in rnthe prevention of diphtheria to child aged 5-11 years old in the Cukir Village, Diwek District, Jombang rnRegency.rnThe design used in this study is descriptive. The population is all mothers who have children 5-11 yearsrnold in the Cukir village, Diwek Districk, Jombang regency as many as 91 people. Sampling technique is rnpurposive sampling. Variable is mother motivation in the prevention of diphtheria to child 5-11 years old. rnThe instrument used was a questionnaire. Data processing and data analysis using the Editing, Coding, rnScoring, Tabulating, and analysis of data.rnThe results showed from 74 respondents the majority of respondents had moderate motivation as many as rn50 respondents (68%) and 24 respondents (32%) had strong motivation.rnBased on the results of the study, mother motivation in the prevention of diphtheria to child 5-11 years rnold in the Cukir Village, Diwek District, Jombang regency majority had moderate motivation. Should bernthe health worker more improve active role in given information and counseling in the direction of rndiphtheria to the society.
