Rheumatic or (athritis rheumathoid) is a disease that has been known and spreadrnthroughout the world and involve all racial and genetic groups. In 2007 the proportion ofrncases of rheumatism by 17.34%, increased to 29.35% in 2008 (Jombang Health Office,rn2009). Preliminary study on May 26rnthrn, 2014 with interviews conducted in HamletrnNgemplak Pagerwojo Village, District of Perak Jombang at the age of 25-35 years, fromrnthe 10 people there were 8 people (80%) suffered from rheumatism, while 2 (20%) didrnnot suffer from rheumatism disease. This research intended to know the attitude ofrnmothers in preventing the occurrence of rheumatic diseases in Hamlet NgemplakrnPagerwojo District of Perak Jombang.rnThe design of this study was descriptive. The time research was on Juli 23rnrdrn2014. Thernpopulation was all women aged 25-30 years in the hamlet Ngemplak Pagerwojo Districtrnof Perak Jombang amounted as 210 people. For the sample was most women aged 25 -30rnin the Hamlet of Ngemplak Pagerwojo, District of Perak Jombang totaled 32 people. Thernsampling technique used was simple random sampling. The variable was the mother'srnattitude in preventing rheumatic diseases. Data processing techniques and data analysisrnusing the editing, coding, scoring and tabulating.rnThe results of this study showed that maternal attitudes in preventing rheumatic diseasesrnhad a negative attitude were as many as 30 respondents (54.29%), and who hade arnpositive attitude were as many as 12 respondents (45.71%).rnFrom the above data that’s the mothers’ attitude in preventing occurrence of rheumaticrnin the Hamlet of Ngemplak Pagerwojo village, District of Perak Jombang more than halfrnof the respondents had a negative attitude. For women are expected to increase theirrnhealth more, and apply healthy lifestyles.rnKeywords: Attitude, Mother, Rheumatic Disease
