The behavior of the elderly in the management of diabetes mellitus effort is still far fromrncomplete, like many elderly people who still can not manage your diet, limit fatty food sandrncarbohydrates, not routinely check blood sugar and lack of exercise. In apreliminary study inrnthe elderly with diabetes mellitus of 10 respondents in 7 behaves get negative results and 3rnbehave positively. The purpose of this study is to investigate the behavior of the elderly in anrneffort managing diabetes mellitus in the village jelakombo districts of Jombang, Jombangrnregency.rnThe design of this research is descriptive. The population in this study is the number of 59rnrespondents. Sample by a factor of 50 respondents inclusion. The sampling used wasrnpurposive sampling. This study is a behavioral variable. Means of data collection in the formrnof a questionnaire. Data processing is done with Editing, Scoring, Coding and Tabulating.rnThe results of behavior studies of elderly in the management of diabetes mellitus effort isrnnegative behavior as much as 31 respondents (62%) and the positive behavior of 19rnrespondents (38%).rnThe conclusion of this study behavior the elderly in the management of diabetes mellitusrnefforts are mostly negative. It is recommended for the nurse village jelakombo will executernKIE (communication information education) effort managing diabetes mellitus for the elderlyrnaccording to totality routine one mouth apparently in the elderly clinic.rnKeywords : Behavior, Elderly, Diabetes Mellitus
